Cory Powell has built his career developing exceptional teams at the intersection of storytelling, audience and technology. At the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, he spent more than a decade spearheading the newsroom's digital media expansion by shaping content strategy, developing new vehicles for niche audiences, and building new channels, such as the organization's video capacity.

Under his leadership, the paper broadened its reach and audience engagement with products, including a network of websites dedicated to high school sports; a publication focused on Baby Boomers; and a dedicated section of the paper with a corresponding celebratory event honoring Minnesota's best places to work.

Since joining iPondr in July 2020, Cory has continued his impressive track record of spotting talented, enthusiastic creatives and uniting them in a shared mission. He thrives on the challenge of driving the editorial direction of iPondr and overseeing a team of passionate journalists and storytellers. Cory also feeds his passion for audience growth by employing powerful storytelling via top-notch user experiences, social media outreach, and multi-screen and multi-platform delivery.

Cory lives in Minnesota with his wife, their two children, and a not-that-well-behaved dog, Bode. In addition to reading and time with family, Cory takes every chance he can to enjoy Minnesota's outdoors.
