Sonya Green loves storytelling. She grew up in a ministerial family watching her father, uncles, aunts, and cousins render audiences spellbound with their ability to “give a word,” as the elders would say. She also grew up with a mother and great-grandmother who loved words and made a point of learning new ones regularly. With those influences and her own experiences, she was led to journalism. She’s done everything from reporting, producing, hosting, and writing. When she has the chance, she does freelance work outside of her role as an Executive Director of a nonprofit news organization.
