Susan Nusser is a freelance writer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Most recently, her stories have covered equity and urban development.  Her writing has been published in the New York Times, CityLab, Next City, and Urban Milwaukee.  She has also published two books about the relationship between equine athletes and their human caregivers.  She lives in Milwaukee with her family and teaching writing at the Milwaukee Area Technical College.
