Dean Krakel is a freelance photojournalist whose writing and photography has appeared in numerous print and online publications. Krakel specializes in outdoor adventure work and is an avid mountain and gravel biker, backcountry skier and long distance hiker.

He has thru hiked The 500-mile-long Colorado Trail and half of the 3,200-mile-long Continental Divide Trail from the Mexican border to Wyoming’s Wind River Range.

Krakel recently moved to Dolores, Colorado to be closer to the canyon country that he loves.
